Home Boarding Terms & Conditions

Our Terms and Conditions cover all eventualities to protect our business and our customers.

General

  1. To ensure the comfort and safety of our guests we will not board aggressive, destructive or overly boisterous dogs. We respect our neighbours and our environment and will not board dogs that persistently bark.

  2. Owners must provide their dogs’ beds, blankets, and crates (if required) for the duration of the stay.

  3. Owners are required to supply all food/treats for the length of your dog’s stay.

  4. We reserve the right to refuse to board any animal that is clearly unwell or in a poorly condition.

  5. No dogs registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act, or Wolf hybrids, will be accepted for boarding as per licensing requirements.

  6. A one-night trial is required for any new boarders, to ensure they will settle with us, and are compatible with the resident dog and cat.

 

Booking/Payment

  1. Boarding rate is per 24-hour period.

  2. Bank Holidays may incur additional fees. This will be advised at time of booking.

  3. 20% non-refundable deposit required at time of booking.

  4. The remaining balance is due on, or before, the first date of the booking.

  5. Where payment is not received, we reserve the right not to proceed with any previously agreed arrangements.

  6. Payment can be made by Cash or Bank Transfer.

  7. In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the owner – i.e. food or other necessary items that contribute to the health and wellbeing of your pet, Alpha Dog Walks will purchase these, retain a receipt and the owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.

 

Insurance

  1. All reasonable care is taken to ensure the integrity and suitability of the care provided.

  2. Alpha Dog Walks has valid public liability insurance, for the peace
    of mind of its customers.

  3. We recommend that you purchase your own separate dog insurance.

 

Medication/Vaccinations/Immunisations

  1. Alpha Dog Walks will follow instructions to administer medications as directed, but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.

  2. Under no circumstances will Alpha Dog Walks board any dog that has any form of active contagious illness.

  3. All dogs should be up to date with worming/flea treatment and vaccinations. We require a copy of a valid vaccination certificate at time of booking.

  4. In the event that Veterinary care is required for your dog you authorise Alpha Dog Walks to make decisions on your behalf if you cannot be contacted.

  5. If the owner’s veterinarian cannot be reached or is unavailable, the owner authorises Alpha Dog Walks to choose an alternative qualified professional to handle any emergency. The owner agrees to reimburse Alpha Dog Walks for all expenses incurred.

 

Collars/Leads

  1. Please provide secure collars and/or harnesses with tags for all visits.

  2. Each dog will be issued with an Alpha Dog Walks Tag during boarding as required by our license.

  3. Choke Chains, Correction Collars and Spray Collars will not be accepted.

 

Liability

  1. Your dog(s) will have a separated area from the resident pets for eating and sleeping to eliminate the risk of animosity.

  2. Owners agree that dogs can be left for a maximum of three hours unsupervised at any one time in a separate area from the resident pets having first been appropriately exercised and fed.

 

Aggressive Animals

  1. Alpha Dog Walks will not accept aggressive animals.

  2. Owner agrees that on booking services for their dog(s) that they have represented that the dog(s) to have not shown aggression or caused harm, or threatening behaviour to any individual and/or any pet(s), and the owner agrees to contact the provider as soon as possible if this changes.

  3. If the owner’s dog(s) whilst being boarded shows aggressive tendencies towards us or our family, or should its behaviour become unacceptable or a nuisance beyond reasonable acceptance, the owner agrees that he/she be placed either with the emergency contact or in a boarding kennel, until the owner returns.

  4. The owner agrees to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc) if the owner’s pet(s) should bite another animal, and agrees that the dog can be muzzled if required.

 

Cancellations

  1. In the event of cancellations that are notified to us 14 days prior to the start of the booking period, all fees less the non-refundable deposit will be refunded, or held over for subsequent bookings.

  2. Any bookings that are cancelled between 14 days and 48 hours before the start date of the booking, will require 50% payment for services.

  3. All bookings cancelled within 48 hours will be payable in full. There are no refunds or credits for early returns or last-minute changes to pet care.

  4. If Alpha Dog Walks cannot provide the service agreed, we will do our best to arrange an alternative, unless in extreme circumstances, where we will endeavour to give 24 hours’ notice. A full refund will be made in this circumstance.

  5. In the event that the owner is delayed on return, they must inform the Alpha Dog Walks as soon as possible, and the Alpha Dog Walks will make every endeavour to make arrangements for continued cover.

  6. Any dog not collected within 7 days of departure date without contact from the owner will be re-homed.
