Alpha Dog Walks is a family run business which started in July 2007, based in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire.
Our aim is to provide a professional and reliable service, individual to our customers needs. We will be there to keep your pet happy when you are unable due to work, illness, holidays or other commitments.We treat your pet like one of our own.
We cover the area along the coast from Portlethen to Cove Bay.
We are fully insured for care, custody & control of animals, third party liability and key cover with Pet Plan Sanctuary. We are pet first aid trained.
Excellent references are available.
We have a fully enclosed field for walking the dogs, so the dogs can be given off lead exercise in a secure area.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US
Hi, my name is Nicola Garrett and I run Alpha Dog Walks.
After graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 2001 with a BSc degree in Zoology I worked at Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, USA and then a local veterinary practice back in Aberdeen.
I started Alpha Dog Walks in July 2007 to provide a local dog walking service. It is a dream come true to spend all day surrounded by dogs and enjoying the countryside. I love building a bond with the dogs i walk, and being met with a waggy tail when i arrive to collect them.
My husband Neil left his career in the care industry, working with adults with special needs, to join Alpha Dog Walks in July 2008. He loves the outdoors and really enjoys going off exploring with the dogs.
We have a crazy Springer x Clumber spaniel, Toby, and a lovely Bengal cat, Star.
Dog Care Services
DOG WALKING
We provide a dog walking service in Portlethen and Cove areas.
We offer an hour long, fun, safe walk for your dog whilst you are at work or away, through forestry, or in our enclosed field.
We have a morning walk and an afternoon walk, or for super active dogs they can do both.
You can be sure that your canine companion will have an enjoyable time playing, exercising and socialising with other dogs, on or off lead as requested. We are happy to feed your dog, give medication, provide treats, etc, to ensure your dog follows his normal routine.
Dogs are collected from home in our fully equipped van or car. We have transportation cages of various sizes to ensure your pet is safe whilst travelling with us. Dogs are dropped home, towel dried, and left with fresh water and treats as per your instructions.
All breeds large and small welcome.
Before walking your dog we visit for a free registration appointment to meet you and your dog, complete paperwork and collect keys.
We regularly post pictures on our facebook page so you can see for yourself the fun your dog has when out with us.

PUPPY / ELDERLY DOG CARE
For elderly dogs we can arrange visits at home throughout the day to provide short local walks, feeds, give medication, etc... and of course, loads of TLC.
For young puppies we can visit them at lunchtime, in your home, until they are fully vaccinated and able to move onto the group walks. We can provide toilet breaks, playtime, feeds and cuddles.

CAT / PET SITTING

Are you going away on holiday (long or short term) or a business trip and would like to leave your cat at home in it's own familiar, comfortable environment? We can offer an alternative to a cattery:
We can provide daily visits to feed, play with your cat, clean litter trays, administer medication and give lots of cuddles.
Particularly great for elderly cats or those who have medical conditions and find a cattery environment too stressful. Nicola has experience of caring for cats with diabetes and giving daily Insulin injections.
We cover Portlethen, Cove, and surrounding areas.
During our visits we can also move mail away from the door, water your plants, put the bins out, etc as required.

PET SITTING
We can provide daily home visits for a wide range of pets, from rodents, to rabbits (indoor and outdoor), reptiles, birds and most other domestic and exotic animals.
We also have experience running our own smallholding and are happy to provide cover for sheep, pigs, horses, chickens, ducks, and after other kinds of livestock.
Visits can be once or twice daily. We are happy to feed and clean out your pet, provide company and TLC, administer medication and anything else required to keep your pet happy until you are home.
We cover: Portlethen, Cove, and surrounding areas.
During our visits we can also move mail away from the door, water your plants, put the bins out, etc as required.
